Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, Dr. Jeanne L. Noble GEMS and the Little Sisters with Books programs provide an array of services to young girls age 8-18 with supervised and structured experiences that broaden their world views, instill the need to achieve academic excellence, increase technical skills, provide opportunities for self-reflection, individual growth, leadership and service. The curriculum focuses on college preparation, school readiness and personal development. The programs foster an academic and experiential environment that nurtures the girls to strive for the 2018-2019 motto: "Catching the Dreams of Tomorrow, Preparing Young Women for the 21st Century."
DR. BETTY SHABAZZ DELTA ACADEMY
The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy program (girls age 11-14) is designed to increase the overall academic success and self-esteem of the participants, by developing their leadership skills and building positive relationships with each other. The curriculum is designed to help participants excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), as well as focusing on health, self-awareness and leadership.
DR. JEANNE L. NOBLE GEMS
The Dr. Jeanne L. Noble GEMS program (young ladies age 15-18) is designed to inspire and motivate adolescents to reach for their greatest potential as they transition into adulthood and post-secondary education. Through various activities that focus on financial literacy, public service, relationship building, college and career planning, our GEMS programs supports these young ladies in becoming strong, dedicated women who contribute value to society and their families.
LITTLE SISTERS WITH BOOKS
Little Sisters with Books (girls age 8-10) recognizes the correlation between nurturing a love for reading and college enrollment. By addressing the fundamental need for increased literacy in elementary age girls, the program's activities helps to build a foundational love for life-long learning by focusing on self-esteem, health, relationship building and STEM.
