Since its inception, the Hartford Alumnae Chapter has placed a priority on providing monetary contributions to deserving young girls who aim to further their education by attending college. In 1984, through corporate and community support, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Breakfast was established as the sole means for generating restricted funds for the scholarship program. With the support of corporate and community sponsorship, more than 140 talented Greater Hartford high school senior girls have been awarded over $355,000 in scholarship funds. On Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 talented deserving young women of the Greater Hartford area will be awarded renewable scholarships for 2019 academic year.
