HARTFORD ALUMNAE CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

For 39 years and counting, the Hartford Alumnae Chapter awards renewable scholarships to talented graduating high school African-American female students in the Greater Hartford region. Our scholarship program is mainly subsidized from proceeds of our signature fundraising event, The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast.  With the help of corporate and community sponsorship, we have awarded over $388,000 to over 130 students in our community.

COLLEGE APTITUDE TEST (CAT) PREPARATORY PROGRAM

For 35 years, Hartford Alumnae’s award-winning CAT Prep Program has equipped students with strategies to improve their test-taking skills. In 1981, the Hartford Alumnae Chapter established an SAT review and preparation program at Weaver High School in Hartford, CT. Over 2,000 students have participated in the review program and have gone on to attend HBCUs and other prominent colleges and universities around the country.

Sessions are currently suspended in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please check back for additional information.
