Introducing D.R.E.A.M. Week 2026

We are proud to launch D.R.E.A.M. Week—a powerful, week-long celebration honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

From Tuesday, January 13 through Saturday, January 17, the Greater Hartford community will celebrate Dr. King in a new and meaningful way, culminating with the 41st Annual MLK Scholarship Breakfast on Saturday, January 17th.

D.R.E.A.M. Week is designed to empower youth, strengthen community, and invest in the future of Greater Hartford students through scholarships. Through a week-long series of events, the Hartford Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and community partners will honor Dr. King’s legacy and advance his vision of the Beloved Community.

Dr. King taught us that service is “the rent we pay for living on this earth.”

D.R.E.A.M. Week honors that spirit through community, unity, and scholarships that uplift our youth.

We’re kicking off D.R.E.A.M. Week with a Press Conference because the dream is alive and the work continues.

Wednesday, Jan 14th

Sharing the Dream is our responsibility. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called us to use our voices, actions, and influence to build a fair, inclusive, and just society.

As part of D.R.E.A.M. Week, communities across Connecticut and beyond are invited to experience Dr. King’s legacy through Summers of Freedom: The Story of Martin Luther King Jr. in Connecticut, a powerful documentary created by Simsbury Public Schools. The film highlights Dr. King’s impact in Connecticut and reminds us that the Civil Rights Movement lived and grew through communities everywhere.

Through education, dialogue, and storytelling, we continue preparing the next generation to lead with purpose and conviction.
